About Us
IUIH, through our Member Services, has one of the largest networks of allied health services in South East Queensland. IUIH employs and provides necessary allied health support to our Member CCHSs across South East Queensland, helping them to meet the health needs of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population of the region.
IUIH’s range of allied health services includes:
- Exercise Physiology - provides education, assessment, support, and monitoring for cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation clients to increase functional capacities and quality of life.
- Occupational Therapy - assist clients across all age groups to develop, improve or regain the skills needed for day-to-day life and/or work following injury, illness, or disability.
- Audiology - test hearing and assess the nature of hearing disorders.
- Psychology - someone who you can talk to and who will listen and provide advice.
- Dietetics - supports the management of diets and nutrition for clients who may be affected by health conditions and to also assist clients to change their diet so that they can become healthier and stay healthy.
- Podiatry - experts in foot, ankle, and lower limb health. They assist with foot problems, education, and management of foot complications, fall prevention and self-management of foot conditions, prescription of orthotics and insoles.
- Physiotherapy - aims to restore and maintain mobility, function, and well-being for clients with new symptoms, existing long-term symptoms, or provide strategies for prevention of disease and injury.
- Speech Pathology - aims to help people who can’t communicate effectively. Speech pathologists can help you if you have problems with speech, language, communication, fluency, or your voice.
- Diabetes Education - provide clients, diagnosed with diabetes, with effective self-managing strategies to improve the quality of life and prevent complications. Diabetes Educator services can provide clients with information, support, and motivation in the management of diabetes and the link with other health professionals.
