About Us

The first person you see when you come in to CRAICCHS will be our Medical Receptionists, they will make sure your appointments are booked, transport is organised, and appointment reminders go out. You will then see either a Health Worker or a Nurse. GP appointments are a great first step on your health and wellbeing journey.

They will ask you about what your visit to the doctor is about and check your general observations such as:

  • Height
  • Weight
  • Waist measurement
  • Sugar test
  • Temperature
  • Blood pressure test
  • Test O2 levels—monitor on your finger
  • Some workers are also able to do a retinal scan if you have concerns about your eyesight

Health Workers will also follow up with you if you have an upcoming specialist appointment to make sure you are still able to attend.

Once you have spent time with the Health Worker or Nurse, you will go in to see the Doctor who will be able to provide the bulk billing GP service.

Our GP’s can complete 715 Health Checks and provide referrals to our allied health professionals and to our social services teams.

CRAICCHS Doctors can provide referrals to the following specialists available in the area.

  • Adult and Paediatric IROC (breathing)
  • Cardiac Clinic (heart)
  • Renal Clinic (kidney)
  • Mental Health Clinic (psychiatrist)
  • Paediatrician (children – behaviour and development problems)
  • Ear, nose, and throat
