Emerge Community Care provides support and services for the relief of poverty, sickness, suffering distress, misfortune, destitution or the helplessness of people in communities of Australia through the provision of visitation and support of socially isolated people, supply of emergency food, clothing or monetary aid. Emerge Community Care has been funded to coordinate the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (previously Community Visitors Scheme), where volunteers are recruited to visit one on one in Aged Care Centres with residents that have limited social contact and are experiencing feelings of loneliness and social isolation.
