Cultural Activities

Residents are taken out in the community and on day trips such as hunting or fishing in local area as part of their treatment. They also undertake a number of activities in the centre – including painting. Soon residents will also be able to partake in cooking, making spears and bush tucker and bush medicine. Cultural activities may vary and are made to suit the individual’s needs; as Gindaja acknowledges that each client’s beliefs and values may differ. The program also offers theory classes on the past/present Indigenous history; such as its effect from then to now.
