parkrun - Galston

This is a challenging but scenic 3-lap course within Fagan Park, Galston. The route consists of mostly sealed paths with some grass, and passes lakes, bridges, gardens and birdlife. There is approximately 25m of elevation gain on each lap. Starting at the top end of the park near the main carpark (accessible from Arcadia Rd), all 3 laps follow a clockwise route to the bottom of the park and back up to the top, finishing with a loop around the playground area. The second lap includes a 600m detour around the picnic area at the bottom end of the park, while the first and third laps veer right to cross over a bridge and continue straight back to the top. Facilities Parking is available inside the park, at a cost of $5 per car. Limited street parking is available along Arcadia Rd. The park contains toilet facilities, playground and picnic areas. Getting There Location of startThe run starts at the top end of the park near the main carpark (accessible from Arcadia Rd). Getting there by public transportBus: Route 637 from Glenorie drops off at cnr Mid Dural Rd / Galston Rd at 7:11am, for a 20 min walk to Fagan Park. Train: There are no train stations close to Fagan Park. Getting there on footFrom bus stop location: Follow Galston Rd past Galston shops, turn left into Arcadia Rd and follow for 1km to the entrance to Fagan Park. Getting there by roadFrom Hornsby: Turn onto Galston Rd from Pacific Hwy, and follow through Galston Gorge up towards Galston. Just before Galston shops, turn right onto Arcadia Rd and follow for 1km. The entrance to Fagan Park is on the right. From Pennant Hills / Castle Hill: Follow New Line Rd / Old Northern Rd north towards Dural. Turn right onto Galston Rd and follow past Galston shops, then turn left onto Arcadia Rd and follow for 1km. The entrance to Fagan Park is on the right. Parking is available inside the park, at a cost of $5 per car. Limited street parking is also available along Arcadia Rd.
