State (Primary and High Schools)

About Us

At Craigslea State School we are committed to providing a quality public education system that delivers opportunities for all students to achieve learning outcomes and reach their potential. As a school community we aim to provide a safe, progressive, focussed and supportive learning environment. We encourage each and every student to aspire to intellectual, social, emotional and physical success.

Craigslea State School currently has an enrolment of around 580 students. The school was opened in 1972 and has a proud history of inclusivity. All areas of the school are wheel chair accessible and facilities include a Special Education unit, P&C Building including our Outside School Hours Care facility, library, shared access to a swimming pool, and auditorium. Craigslea State High School is located next door and the close liaison between the primary and high school means children can be exposed to broader experiences more easily.

Craigslea State School enjoys a high standard of student behaviour, creating fun and safe playground environments and allowing effective teaching to occur in the classrooms. The school’s ‘Student Leader’ program and Bridge Building peer mediators promote this caring climate with older students actively caring for those younger than themselves.
