Group61

Group61 is a volunteer mental health befriending program, we provide support through friendship to people living in community experiencing social isolation, with a lived experience of mental illness. Our Friends (people with a lived experience of mental illness) and volunteers meet regularly with the aim of reducing social isolation and as self-confidence and trust grow through their friendship, individuals are supported to rebuild social connections within their community.

Group61 operated as an independent NGO for 16 years before joining forces with WMQ in 2016. We are active across South East Qld including Brisbane City, Redlands City, City of the Gold Coast and Moreton Bay Region.
