Cairns Art Society

Founded on a rich history of artistic exploration and community engagement, Cairns Art Society has been a nurturing space for emerging and established artists to showcase their talents since 1931. We are the oldest art society in the region, and proud to have played a key role and setting Cairns up to be the creative hub it is today.

Our society celebrates the diversity of the region, showcasing works from all walks of life and giving artists the opportunity not just to grow, but to flourish.

In our two locations, Artists @ Work Studio and Gallery at 51 Lake Street Cairns City and the Members Gallery Shop at DFO, we showcase a broad range of artistic expressions from talented individuals who are members of Cairns Art Society. From intricate hyper-realistic paintings to contemporary sculptures and ceramics inspired by the Great Barrier Reef, the creativity of our members is never-ending.

Members come from across the community and range from professional artists and art teachers to beginners and art students.  Many have joined since moving to Cairns, allowing them to readily engage with the Cairns cultural scene. 

We are excited to have new and vibrant artists of all styles to join with us and help us become more and more effective in our goal of supporting local artists and the community in general.
