About Us
Talking Towers Speech Pathology is a Charters Towers-based service for children and adults with communication or feeding difficulties.
Michelle Petersen (director) has 16 years experience as a speech pathologist. She has worked within health, disability, education and private sectors. Michelle is a member of Speech Pathology Australia and is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (meaning she has met ongoing professional education requirements).
Michelle has a special interest in the areas of speech sound disorders, early language development, school-aged language difficulties, literacy difficulties, stuttering and voice.
Home and school visits are available subject to availability. A travel fee may apply.
Michelle is also available to provide services directly to schools (subject to availability) and can also provide professional development for teachers/early childhood staff. Michelle is also available for parent education/information sessions.
PAYMENT INFORMATION: As a private practice, services are provided for a fee which must be paid on the day of the appointment. Fees vary depending on the services required so please contact us for more information. Medicare rebates and private health rebates may be available. Talking Towers has HICAPS for direct claiming from Medicare and health funds.
NDIS: While Talking Towers is not a registered NDIS provider, we can provide services to self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participants. Please chat with your Local Area Coordinator or Access Partner if you would like to access Talking Towers but your funds are agency-managed (where the provider claims payments directly from the NDIA) as they may be able to help you change your fund management option.
