Gatakers Artspace

This creative hub was once robust warehouses for the bustling port of Maryborough. The warehouses are among the oldest in Maryborough and have been sensitively restored to preserve the historic value of the buildings, while creating a contemporary exhibition and creative space. 

The four galleries have new exhibits every six to eight weeks of local and visiting artists. Gatakers Artspace is committed to supporting creativity of individuals and groups within our community. 

Gallery Space

Gatakers Artspace has four beautiful gallery spaces all with professional lighting and hanging systems. The Artspace has retained the character and charm of it’s former life as a warehouse, with heritage brick walls and loft ceilings, providing a unique and memorable exhibition space. The Gallery prides itself in its friendly and helpful staff and volunteers who are passionate about the arts and culture scene.

The Artspace is a community gallery committed to supporting the professional development of artists from throughout the Wide Bay region and Queensland through the Community Exhibitions Program.

This support includes fostering the development of skills and knowledge of Fraser Coast artists, and to provide them with opportunities to display newly developed work. Hence, the Gallery's annual program includes exhibitions by regional and Queensland-based artists.
