About Us
Queensland Health's BreastScreen Queensland (BSQ) program provides free breast cancer screening to women aged 40 years and over, who do not have existing breast cancer symptoms. Women aged 50 to 74 years are recommended to attend for a screening mammogram (breast screen) every two years, as this is the age group where the benefits of regular screening are most clearly demonstrated.
The BSQ Gold Coast Service has permanent facilities located at: Burleigh Waters, Helensvale, Robina, and Southport. A mobile service is also available and visits Beaudesert, Eagleby, Elanora, Jimboomba, Nerang, North Tamborine and Pimpama annually.
Individual and group bookings are available. A doctor's referral is not required.
Eligible women can arrange their free breast screen appointment by phoning 132050 or online via the BSQ website - www.breastscreen.qld.gov.au
Health Promotion Officers are available to speak to community groups and workplaces about breast health and breast screening.
