About Us

The Cambrian Youth Choir is a non-auditioned ensemble for young singers, male and female, from Years 7 to 12. Since its formation in 1969, the Choir has established a well-deserved reputation as an outstanding performance ensemble for young singers living in the Ipswich area. The choir provides unique training, competition and performance opportunities for young singers across all voice types – soprano, alto, tenor and bass.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of its musical directors, the choir has created an impressive record of achievements, including many first prizes at recent Queensland eisteddfodau. The choir also competes in local eisteddfodau, with great success, and performs at concerts and special events in the Ipswich area.

Many members of the Youth Choir have continued on to the Senior Choir, and many talented soloists within the choir have gone on to achieve recognition in the arts both in Australia and overseas.
