About Us

The YWCA has been in the business of providing Queenslanders with affordable, secure and appropriate housing solutions for more than 120 years. Combating housing stress and homelessness is part of our very reason for being.

Currently, we manage a large number of community housing properties: housing (units and homes) for low-income households who are on the One Social Housing System waitlist maintained by the Queensland Department of Communities (Housing Services).

We manage community housing at many locations in Toowoomba (including at our Mary Street centre) and in Denham Street, Townsville. A number of our homes and units are adaptable for people with restricted mobility.

As a community housing manager, we pride ourselves on our targeted, individualised support. We are committed to assisting our tenants not only to sustain their tenancies but to access appropriate support and opportunities to enable them to lead fulfilling and productive lives in our community.
