About Us

The course is an out and back course beginning on the track below the car park and continues around the Risdon Brook Dam in an anti-clockwise direction for 2.5km before turning for home along the same track. Be prepared for some short hills as you are treated to stunning views of the dam and Mt Wellington along this undulating wide gravel road.Please note that as this is a water catchment area no dogs are allowed into the park. Getting There Location of startThe run starts on the track below the car park. Getting there by public transportLocals and visitors can catch a Metro bus to our parkrun. For anyone coming from the city catch the 695 bus at 7:54am from Bus Stop D in the bus mall. This should get you into Risdon Vale at around 8:20. Perfect for our 9am start. On the way home there are a couple of options. The bus at around 10am takes you to Rosny where you will need to change to a Hobart bound bus, otherwise the 10:30 bus goes all the way into the city. Getting there on footN/A Getting there by roadIf coming from Hobart: cross the Tasman Bridge and take the East Derwent Highway until you reach the roundabout at Grass Tree Hill and East Derwent Highway. Take the second exit onto Grass Tree Hill Road then the first left into Risdon Brook Park. If coming from the Northern Suburbs: take the Brooker Highway to the traffic lights at the Glenorchy Showground. Cross the Bowen Bridge onto the East Derwent Highway.
