About Us

Overseen by an onsite Occupational Therapist (OT) and suitable for NDIS funding, MindClimb is a fun, safe and therapeutic program for people with diverse neuro-developmental needs (e.g. ASD and ADHD) that uses our vast variety of engaging climbing structures.

MindClimb is an encouraging, non-competitive substitute for conventional sports. Participants with additional developmental needs complete closely supervised climbing exercises tailored to individual abilities increasing their social participation. Parents can relax with a tasty snack or barista coffee in the on-site café and watch the action above, however are not required to be present during MindClimb sessions. Participants use heaps of playful energy and gain a wonderful sense of achievement.

MindClimb Benefits:

1. Overall strength and functional fitness with improved fine / gross motor skills.

2. Developed coordination and proprioception (awareness of the position and movement of the body).

3. Improved sensory processing with enhanced focus, behaviour and emotional regulation.

4. Increased self-esteem and sense of achievement.

5. Enhanced capacity and resilience to participate in daily activities.

What we offer:

Individual Sessions: A one-on-one appointment can be arranged with an instructor who works exclusively with a participant to maximise their physical, mental and emotional development. Flexible times reduce sensory distractions and increase learning and concentration. Sessions during the day tend to be more quieter and sensory-friendly.

Afterschool Sessions: Most participants complete closely supervised, weekly MindClimb sessions for 1.6 hours starting at either 4:30pm or 6pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Sessions can be reduced to 1.1 hours if necessary. Participants can complete a casual MindClimb session before deciding if they will commit to weekly sessions.

Occupational Therapist (OT) Sessions: These sessions combine therapeutic climbing with specific interventions focused on achieving the participant’s NDIS goals. An assessment and the participant’s NDIS goals is required to tailor the interventions. Sunday OT sessions may be possible subject to availability.

Weekend Sessions: Sessions are available in the evenings for those unable to attend during the week. Please note, Weekend sessions cost more than weekday sessions and there may be members of the public present at the centre.

MindClimb and Occupational Therapy sessions are suitable for self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.
