Mental Health Assessment
Signs of mental illness are quite broad and can often be confused with signs of physical illness. It is important to conduct a thorough evaluation to consider whether behaviours are appropriate developmentally prior to providing any diagnosis via the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM).
-
Developmental Assessment
This is considered when there are concerns about a young persons ability to meet expected developmental milestones and perform everyday tasks. The aim is to identify the child’s strengths and challenges to that specific intervention can focus on the child’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.
-
Victims of Crime Assessment (VOCAT)
This report is usually requested by The Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT) for the purpose of financial compensation as a victim of a crime. The Assessment evaluates the psychological impact of a crime on the victim and provides treatment and further recommendations.
All assessment results are compiled in a detailed psychological report with a summary of clinical observations, background information, medical history and standardised test results (if required). The substantial report is finalised with recommendations in relation to academic, social, behavioural and emotional functioning.
Group Programs
We aim to run several parenting support groups throughout the year at various intervals. Please contact us to find out when our next group is scheduled to commence.
