About Us

 THE CLUB

The club was formed in 1948 as the Hilton Park Cricket Club and played in the local Fremantle and Districts Mercantile Cricket Association with the club being based at Hilton Reserve.  In 1968 the club merged with the struggling Cockburn (formerly YCW) Club and continued to play in the Fremantle and Districts Mercantile Cricket Association.

In 1996 the Fremantle and Districts Mercantile Cricket Association merged with the South Suburban Cricket Association to form the South Metropolitan Cricket Association which the club continues to play in this competition.

Since 1989 the club has fielded five teams in the SMCA competition.

The club is now based at Melville Reserve – corner of Stock Road and Canning Highway, Palmyra and shares the clubrooms and facilities with the Melville Rams Football Club and the Melville Tennis Club.

The club’s three home grounds are Melville Reserve, Hilton South, Carrington Street Hilton and Dick Lawrence Oval, Lefroy Road, Beaconsfield. In 2008 the club changed its named to Hilton Palmyra Cricket Club.

New players are always encouraged and made welcome.

The cricket season traditionally begins in the first week of October and continues through to March.  Approximately 20 weeks of home and away matches are played in a combination of two day (75 over) and one day (40 over) matches with the last round traditionally being the first weekend of March.  The finals are then played over the next few weekends.

Training begins in August each year with a couple of Indoor Sessions on Saturday mornings before moving to some Saturday morning outdoor sessions at Melville Reserve and then to training on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5pm as the ‘light’ improves in September.
