SAFE Avon Valley

SAFE Avon Valley was officially established in 2017 and is proudly based in Northam, serving the wider Avon Valley region. However, the seeds of SAFE’s presence in the area were sown long before that. For years, the Avon Valley had seen the efforts of SAFE Inc. through various small-scale initiatives and the commitment of local volunteers dedicated to animal rescue and welfare. Yet, it wasn’t until 2017 that the branch truly took root and began to flourish.

The pivotal moment came when SAFE Inc. identified a passionate and experienced individual to take on the role of Branch Coordinator. This person had already dedicated many years to animal rescue and care, bringing with them a deep understanding of the challenges and rewards associated with this important work. Most importantly, they shared SAFE’s core values—compassion, dedication, and a commitment to making a lasting difference in the lives of animals.

With the leadership of this new Branch Coordinator, the Avon Valley branch was re-established with a renewed focus and energy. Consequently, the branch quickly became a vital resource for the community, providing much-needed support to animals in need across the region. The team at SAFE, comprised of dedicated volunteers and foster carers, works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals, ensuring they have the best possible chance at a happy and healthy life.

Operating in Northam, SAFE Avon Valley continues to build strong relationships with local veterinarians, community members, and other organizations. These partnerships are crucial in supporting the branch’s efforts to educate the public about responsible pet ownership, reduce the number of homeless animals, and find loving homes for pets in need.

As SAFE Avon Valley looks to the future, the branch remains committed to its mission of providing compassionate care to every animal that comes through its doors.
